  • Is a Medicare or private health insurance rebate available?
    Medicare Benefit If you have a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from a GP or psychiatrist, you will be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $97.35 per individual session for up to 10 sessions per Calander year. If you do not attend the appointment, or if you attend for less than 20 minutes, then the rebate is not available. Medicare advises that these funds will be in your bank account within two business days. Private Health Insurance If your private health insurance includes psychology or counselling as extras, you may be eligible for a partial rebate. Please contact your insurance provider to enquire about the coverage available for registered psychologists under your plan.
  • Do I need a referral to see a psychologist
    No, a referral is not required to see a psychologist. You are able to book appointments without a GP referral. However, you will not be available for Medicare rebates unless you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Generally, rebates for private health funds are available without a referral, but you are encouraged to seek advice from your individual health fund before booking to confirm this.
  • Do you see client through Workcover, NDIS, TAC, Victims of Crime, Employee Assistance Programs, or ATAPS?
    Kylie will see clients through NDIS if they are self-managed. However, she does not currently see clients through Workcover, TAC, Victims of Crime, EAP programs, or ATAPS.
  • Are there conditions that you do not treat?
    There are some conditions that are not well suited to this online therapy platform. The following conditions cannot be treated: - Current suicidal Ideation or self-harm. - Unmanaged or unstable psychotic disorders or psychosis. - Significant addiction (e.g., substance abuse) - Cognitive and Autism assessments. - Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), or other complex dissociative disorders. - Anorexia Nervosa. - Workcover, TAC, or EAP services.

  • Do you provide support individuals of all faiths or no faith?
    Curated Mind Psychology provides support based on individual needs, regardless of protected characteristics or theological beliefs. We welcome individuals of all faiths and those without faith. Recognizing that faith and religious affiliation can be central to many people's lives, we also acknowledge that involvement in faith communities can sometimes lead to confusion, distress, trauma, or mental health challenges. Curated Mind Psychology is committed to supporting individuals through their unique experiences and helping them navigate these complexities with care and understanding.
  • How is payment taken for online appointments?
    We ask for payment upfront so that we can spend quality time with our clients, and not chasing invoices. The majority of clients use the secure stripe system, which will automatically deduct fees at the time of your appointment. If you required an alternative payment option, please ask and we'll try to accommodate.
  • What is you cancellaton policy?
    To maximise the benefits of your treatment, regular attendance is important. We recognise that unexpected events can disrupt your plans, so if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance (or by Friday morning for Monday appointments). This allows us to allocate your session to someone else in need. If you’re unable to provide the required 48 hours' notice, a cancellation fee will be charged as outlined below. However, if we can fill your appointment slot from our waiting list, no fee will be applied. Cancellation fees are in accordance with the Australian Psychological Society's guidelines. Fees for missed appointments or those rescheduled with less than 48 hours' notice: 1st occurrence: 25% of the full session fee 2nd occurrence: 50% of the full session fee 3rd occurrence: 100% of the full session fee Cancellation fees will be charged to the credit card on file. Please be aware that Medicare, private health funds, and most third-party payers do not provide rebates for cancellation fees, so these costs will be out-of-pocket.
